This is a Summer of Love poster designed and illustrated by Rick Griffin in 1967 in collaboration with Berkeley Bonaparte. It is an original 2nd printing. The first printing was black & white. The color is great and it definitely was on the wall. It is uncommon and considered one of Griffin, who passed away in 1991, most iconic image of this generation. It measures 14″ X 20.” Not many out there. Corners can be conserved if wanted.

RICHARD ALDEN “RICK” GRIFFIN WAS AN AMERICAN ARTIST AND ONE OF THE LEADING DESIGNERS OF PSYCHEDELIC POSTERS IN THE 1960’S HE WAS A KEY FIGURE IN THE UNDERGROUND COMIX MOVEMENT AS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE ZAP COMIX COLLECTIVE.HE WAS ONE OF THE FOUNDERS OF THE BERKELEY BONAPARTE, A POSTER ART COLLECTIVE. AND A MEMBER OF “THE BIG FIVE” OF POSTER PSYCHEDELIA. THE FRAME IS 18.5″X24.75″ AND IS STILL IN GOOD SHAPE FOR BEING 55+ YEARS OLD, HAS A LITTLE WATER STAINING ON THE BACK AND A VERY SMALL SPOT (BOTTOM RIGHT FRONT) ON THE BLUE MATT ONLY.
