This is a rare souvenir program from the Post-Broadway tour of the JOHN VAN DRUTEN play “I AM A CAMERA” starring JULIE HARRIS. (The production opened November 28th, 1951 at the Empire Theatre in New York City and ran for 214 performances before going on the road.) ….. The play, which eventually became the basis of the award winning JOHN KANDER and FRED EBB musical “CABARET”, starred JULIE HARRIS as “Sally Bowles” (winner of the first of her four Tony Awards for “Best Actress in a Play”) and featured CHARLES COOPER, OLGA FABIAN, EDWARD ANDREWS, HARRIET E. MacGIBBON, WILLIAM ALLYN and JANET DOWD ….. The play, which eventually became the basis of the award winning JOHN KANDER and FRED EBB musical “CABARET”, starred JULIE HARRIS as “Sally Bowles” (winner of the first of her four Tony Awards for “Best Actress in a Play”) and WILLIAM PRINCE and featured MARTIN BROOKS, OLGA FABIAN, EDWARD ANDREWS, MARIAN WINTERS and CELE McLAUGHLIN (who was replaced out-of-town by CATHERINE WILLARD) …..
