This is a rare April 18th, 1950 programme (playbill) from the one-week, Provincial Tour engagement of the J. M. BARRIE play with music “PETER PAN” at the Davis Theatre in Croydon, England. (The production opened December 16th, 1949 at the Scala Theatre in London for a limited four week engagement before going on the road.) ….. The musical starred MARGARET LOCKWOOD in the title role and JOHN JUSTIN in the dual roles of “Captain Hook” and “Mr. Darling” and featured ELIZABETH CLIFFORD, CHRISTINA FORREST, DEREK ROCK, BILL CROYDON, JANE WREN, MICHAEL NORDEN, FRED MASON, IAIN SCOTT, SEAN LYNCH, ALAN STEBBINGS, JAMES GRAY, PHILIP RAY, DESMOND CARRINGTON, CHARLES HERSEE, WILLIAM LUFF, GILES COOPER, DENIS CAREW, STANLEY PLATTS, GEOFFREY UNDERWOOD, LOUIS C. WILSON, HARRY CROSSMAN, JONATHAN STEWART, JULIA WARRACK, ROSEMARY MICHELL, ROSAMOND LESLIE and LAURIE SHEPHERD ….. CREDITS: Book by JAMES M. DETAILS: The six panel, bi-fold program measures 5 1/2″ X 8 5/8″ inches and includes full production credits, cast list and synopsis of scenes, but no cast photos or bios ….. CONDITION: (Please Note!) There is a heavy fold to the lower left corner which has resulted in some tearing and a small amount of paper loss, slight discoloration and moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
