This is an original Eden Hashish Centre poster from Nepal c. 1970. It is in VF+ condition with minor handling and wear. The Eden Hashish Centre opened in ’62, and over time became a popular destination for hippie tourists in Nepal. The Centre seems to have decided to start advertising via posters around ’70. There are dozens of different designs, and all are scarce and desirable. Almost all of them show familiar Hindu dieties and are totally conventional in their iconography; it is the subject matter that makes them of interest to collectors. They were printed on thin, cheap paper, and are not often found in NM condition.Eventually the U.S government brought pressure to bear upon the Nepalese government and the Eden Hashish Centre was closed down as a result of this. The posters stop in about ’73, and the later posters are different from this, the earliest and most desirable style. The shipping cost computed here should be correct if you only purchase one item.
