Dolly Parton is a NATIONAL TREASURE. Not just a great singer and phenomenal songwriter, but an accomplished actress, stage performer, entrepreneur and perhaps most understated, one of the most gracious and benevolent benefactor, donors, patrons, altruists and philanthropists in the world. And you rarely – if ever – hear her tell you about it. She helps just about anyone, anywhere there is a natural disaster. She is quite simply an anomaly to the human condition. She is Dolly. One-of-a-kind. She has had many great hits, but this -her Greatest Hits Dolly Parton album which chronicles some of her very best is also one of the very best and most beautiful awards my father made in his Music Row workshop. He -Ken Kittinger {Google him at Ken Kittinger Gold Records} made hundreds and hundreds of gold & platinum awards for every record label on Music Row during his 50 year career and was considered the “premier gold record maker.” The matching framed RCA promo photo of Dolly which comes with is from the movie, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. 9 to 5, Here You Come Again, Islands in the Stream (a duet with the late great Kenny Rogers), The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas “version” of I Will Always Love You (her greatest songwriting accomplishment), and many more are represented on this fabulous album which was certified Platinum in the U.S. by RIAA in 1986 and which was Gold and Silver in Australia and the U.K. The red velvet background and the double matted red velvet and lavender graphics in this 15 X 19 X 2 shadow box make this one of the most beautiful music awards ever made. Someday, this will auction for thousands of dollars – that’s my opinion and I’ve seen Pop’s awards which I sell on Internet venue’s for a little less or a little more than $200 go for $5,000. He passed in 2016 and left me more than 5,000 items of memorabilia and in my late 70’s, I consider selling these to fans a labor of love and a privilege to know his work is hanging on walls in more than 100 countries after his passing.
